Surrogate Scene 128

Hailey finally woke up enough to remember how to deal with the noise; she reached over and slapped the snooze bar to temporarily silence the clock before managing to sit up and slide the alarm’s switch to off.

Erin groggily got out of bed, nearly tripping over her sheets before her feet got a stable grip on the ground. “G’morning,” she mumbled.

Hailey looked over at Erin. “Did you sleep well?”

“Yeah. I didn’t have any nightmares last night,” replied Erin. Hailey had become concerned over the frequency of Erin’s bad dreams and had made a point to ask about them each morning. Erin had never admitted what her nightmares were about, but she was perfectly willing to answer Hailey in the negative or affirmative as appropriate each morning.
